Leading Brands goes from grey to green

Last year, at Leading Brands, we took the green lead in the UAE by opting to use environmentally-conscious stationery and marketing print material.

Large corporate businesses once stayed away from using recycled or eco-friendly papers as they “looked” recycled and lacked the kind of sophistication marketing managers required. But this is simply no longer the case.

At Leading Brands we are passionately committed to becoming the UAE’s most eco-conscious publisher and have partnered with an eco-paper champion in luxurious smooth papers that offer crisp printing. Mohawk Fine Papers is at the forefront of environmentally sound manufacturing, producing papers using wind-generated electricity to reduce its carbon footprint. It also purchases its wood pulp from sustainable forests, which have been certified by FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

“As paper is one of our main industry resources, it is up to publishers and other media houses to encourage clients to use certified papers and recycle,” comments Kirsten Campbell-Morris, Company Partner, Leading Brands.

As part of corporate social responsibility, a new icon logo, “Please recycle this magazine”, is now incorporated into all of our publications and issues, and any surplus paper or publications not used or needed by us is sent to one of the few UAE paper recycling mills.
